Asset management becomes the new core process of Rijkswaterstaat

Rijkswaterstaat and Asset Management

Rijkswaterstaat has presented a bold vision for the future: a reorganization that will make the organization more agile and effective. The necessity is clear—ageing infrastructure, climate change, limited financial resources, scarcity of space and raw materials, and a tight labor market.

In this context, asset management will become the new core process of the Rijkswaterstaat organization.

Oxand, a specialist in asset management, fully supports this new direction taken by Rijkswaterstaat, which aligns perfectly with what we emphasize in our collaboration with governments and infrastructure managers: asset management is not a support function, but the very core for asset owners in a densely built country like the Netherlands. It provides the focus needed to achieve long-term goals, shared vision, and future perspectives, while improving the performance of assets and networks.

We are therefore pleased to continue supporting Rijkswaterstaat in realizing this direction by sharing our knowledge and expertise, as we already do in the development of Long-Term Asset Planning (LTAP) for complex structures such as tunnels and movable bridges.

We look forward to seeing other organizations and public entities embrace the asset management approach initiated by Rijkswaterstaat. Read the interview with Martin Wijnen, Director-General of Rijkswaterstaat, Here.
